Tracto Diesel
Tracto Diesel faced a challenge in operational continuity and visibility after carrying out a major migration of its data infrastructure from SQL Server to SAP HANA. This transition caused a critical disconnection in its existing reporting systems, leaving the company without reliable access to its historical and operational performance indicators.
Additionally, the Business Intelligence solutions in place contained metrics with inconsistent formulas and poorly standardized visualizations, making data interpretation difficult. Furthermore, product classification for inventory management and strategic planning lacked analytical depth, as products were handled in a generalized manner without considering specific sales behavior, volatility, or market penetration. This limited the optimization of resources and commercial strategies.

The Solution
We addressed the challenge through a dual strategy: rebuilding the business intelligence layer and implementing advanced analytics for product management.
First, we restored and optimized the data architecture by integrating the new SAP HANA databases with Power BI. We performed a thorough cleanup of metrics and formulas to ensure a “single source of truth,” consistent KPIs, and best practices. Additionally, we redesigned all reports to improve decision-making processes and surface insights that had previously gone unnoticed.
Second, following an in-depth exploration of SAP data sources, we developed an Artificial Intelligence clustering model. We implemented automated data pipelines (ETL) that extract sales and new product information to feed a system that automatically segments inventory based on three critical dimensions: Volume, Volatility, and Market Penetration (customer portfolio). This enables Tracto Diesel to apply differentiated strategies to each product group.
Business Impact
Restored and Enhanced Visibility: The critical connection between SAP HANA and decision-making systems was reestablished, moving from uncertainty to standardized, reliable real-time dashboards.
Intelligent Inventory Strategies: Thanks to segmentation by volume, volatility, and penetration, Tracto Diesel can now execute precise operational strategies—for example, ensuring safety stock for high-penetration products or reducing risk for highly volatile items.
Automation and Efficiency: The implementation of ETL pipelines eliminated the need for manual data extraction and automated model retraining, ensuring that product classification evolves alongside the market without constant human intervention.
Data Reliability: The cleansing and standardization of formulas eliminated reporting discrepancies, allowing management to fully trust KPIs for financial and operational decision-making.
